With 127 rooms, The Explorer Hotel is the largest hotel in the Northwest Territories. The excellent Traders Grill and relaxing Trapline Lounge feature a wide variety of local and contemporary cuisine and seating for over 135 people.
The Explorer Hotel has played a central role in the Yellowknife community; in the 1970s it was the home of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories and hosted such prominent guests as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and the former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
