The Elephantine Island Resort, operated by Movenpick Hotels, is located amongst exotic landscaped gardens on Elephantine Island, close to Aswan town.  The hotel runs a regular shuttle boat between the island and the corniche at Aswan.

The hotel's public areas are currently undergoing an extensive renovation which is scheduled to be completed by April 2007.  Certain facilities are not currently available during this period.

The hotel's main restaurant - the Orangerie, with view to the pool, offering the famous Movenpick buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner - is currently closed.  Until April guests will eat at La Perla, the hotel's delightful Italian Restuarant overlooking the Nile.

The Pool Restaurant & Bar, which will offer light dishes, barbecues, drinks and ice cream, is also due to reopen in April, as is the Lounge Bar, outdoor swimming pool, spa, table tennis and floodlit tennis courts.
